Privacy Policy

The short version

This is a static website promoting a book. It does not run advertising, it does not sell anything directly, and it does not ask you to create an account. There is no database behind it and no form that submits data to this site.

Information collected

Server logs. The web host records standard request information — IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page, and browser user agent. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting and are retained by the host under its own retention schedule.

Analytics. This site uses Statcounter to measure page views, referring sites, and general visitor information such as browser, device type, and approximate location. The statistics are reviewed in aggregate. They are not used to build a profile of an individual visitor and are not shared with advertisers. Statcounter processes this information under its own privacy policy.

The contact form. The form on the contact page has no destination on this server. It assembles the text you type into a message in your own email application, which you then choose to send or discard. Nothing you type is transmitted to or stored on this website. Once you send an email, it is handled like any other correspondence.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own for advertising or personalization. The Statcounter analytics script may set a cookie that distinguishes first-time visitors from returning ones. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting how the site works.

Correspondence

Email sent to the address on this site is retained as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of the exchange. It is not added to a mailing list without your explicit request, and it is not sold or shared.

Third parties

This site links to Amazon, where the book is sold. Amazon operates under its own privacy policy, which governs anything you do on its site. These are plain links, not affiliate links, and this site receives no information about your visit or purchase.

To ask what correspondence is held, or to ask for it to be deleted, write to the address on the contact page.

This policy may be updated as the site changes. The version published here is the current one.
